Practice and Method of Model Genetic Resources I

Through practical training, students will acquire a high level of knowledge and skills related to the conservation and management of genetic resources by learning the classification, identification and storage methods of plant genetic resources and other peripheral techniques, as well as by receiving on-site training. Students will acquire highly specialized skills and knowledge necessary for handing plant genetic resources by using a model organism "Lotus japonicus" and other plants, learning about plant classification based on morphological observation, plant components, nucleotide sequences, genome size, etc., and the application of genetic recombination technology on plants, and also by visiting places where these techniques are actually used and environments where diverse genetic resources grow.
